“I think in my first week I dropped about 4 pounds. After that I consistently lost weight until I was down 61 pounds.”
“For me it was 2 things, the first being my family that were all
pushing me to lose weight, and the second reason was because I got sick
of waking up every morning and hating the reflection looking back at me.
I've spoken to a lot of girls in the Facebook community which made me
notice that my circumstances were a little different compared to most
women.
I didn't grow-up with any weight problems. On the contrary, believe it
or not I was actually in great shape and physically active doing
taekwondo.
I mainly started to gain weight after quitting taekwondo since I kept
getting injured. That's when I started to notice something funny, my
family would eat the same amount of food as me, but I was the only one
gaining weight even though most of them weren't any more physically
active than I was.
I always felt like I was the black sheep of the family since I was the
only one with weight issues in the family. Even when we had family
gatherings I looked like the odd one out and my family would remind me
of this, just in case I forgot lol.
'Jen you've gotten so big!' Or when they would see me getting a second
plate 'You don't need that honey, put it down!'. It was so embarrassing.
I got sick of it and tried every crash diet I came across, but even
though I lost weight, as soon as I started eating normally again it all
came back. One day I saw an old photo in my Facebook memories and I
couldn't believe how different I looked.
I started to remember how confident I used to be, how I used to go to
the beach all the time wearing a bikini, now I avoid the beach as much
as possible since there was no way I could be seen wearing a bikini, I
was too ashamed. That's when I decided to stop the crash diets and gave
your approach a try. :)“
"I've tried so many diets I don't know where to begin! But the one that
sticks out for me is the Paleo diet because of all the issues I had when
doing it like muscle cramps, joint pains, back pain, and fatigue.
I ended up having to go to my family doctor and he said that I have
deficiencies in calcium and vitamin D, which are very critical to bone
health.
He also said since saturated fat and protein can be eaten far above the
recommended levels on a paleo diet, I'm also increasing my risk of some
serious health issues.
Hearing all that I immediately stopped! Luckily for me I got to meet
Coach Shane not long after and he got me started on the journey that led
me to where I am now.”
“The biggest difference for me was the fact I could eat what I wanted without worrying all the time about gaining weight, I got sick of all the crash diets I did, especially since I would gain weight again anyway. I also loved how flexible everything is. I can exercise or go to the gym but I don't have to, I do go but only like twice a week. ”
