Jen's Went From Struggling With Her Self-Image To Having A Body Worthy of Being On A Magazine Cover





Jen's story is a little different when compared to mine and many others. Jen really struggled with her self-image not just because she was unhappy with her body, but also because she was the only woman in her family who was overweight…

Unlike me who comes from a long line of bad genetics, Jen comes from an Asian background with great genetics and health.

She felt her family and culture expected her to look a certain way and she didn't quite “fit the bill” as she put it, making Jen feel like the ‘Black Sheep' of the family.

Initially, Jen only cared about making her family happy, but as she continued to use Kaiser Coach and see the results coming in, she decided to do this for herself.

She did this to become the BEST version of herself… Because she wanted to love the woman looking back at her in the mirror!

That's why I really wanted to do this interview as it's a real eye opener, this one took awhile to get done because of how busy Jen is so it was really hard to catch her at the perfect time, but it all worked out in the end.

So Jen, how much weight did you lose?

“I think in my first week I dropped about 4 pounds. After that I consistently lost weight until I was down 61 pounds.”

What made you decide to go on this transformation journey?

“For me it was 2 things, the first being my family that were all pushing me to lose weight, and the second reason was because I got sick of waking up every morning and hating the reflection looking back at me. I've spoken to a lot of girls in the Facebook community which made me notice that my circumstances were a little different compared to most women.

I didn't grow-up with any weight problems. On the contrary, believe it or not I was actually in great shape and physically active doing taekwondo.

I mainly started to gain weight after quitting taekwondo since I kept getting injured. That's when I started to notice something funny, my family would eat the same amount of food as me, but I was the only one gaining weight even though most of them weren't any more physically active than I was.

I always felt like I was the black sheep of the family since I was the only one with weight issues in the family. Even when we had family gatherings I looked like the odd one out and my family would remind me of this, just in case I forgot lol.

'Jen you've gotten so big!' Or when they would see me getting a second plate 'You don't need that honey, put it down!'. It was so embarrassing.

I got sick of it and tried every crash diet I came across, but even though I lost weight, as soon as I started eating normally again it all came back. One day I saw an old photo in my Facebook memories and I couldn't believe how different I looked.

I started to remember how confident I used to be, how I used to go to the beach all the time wearing a bikini, now I avoid the beach as much as possible since there was no way I could be seen wearing a bikini, I was too ashamed. That's when I decided to stop the crash diets and gave your approach a try. :)“

Before working with us, what did you do to lose weight?

"I've tried so many diets I don't know where to begin! But the one that sticks out for me is the Paleo diet because of all the issues I had when doing it like muscle cramps, joint pains, back pain, and fatigue.

I ended up having to go to my family doctor and he said that I have deficiencies in calcium and vitamin D, which are very critical to bone health.

He also said since saturated fat and protein can be eaten far above the recommended levels on a paleo diet, I'm also increasing my risk of some serious health issues.

Hearing all that I immediately stopped! Luckily for me I got to meet Coach Shane not long after and he got me started on the journey that led me to where I am now.”

What was different when you started working with us?

“The biggest difference for me was the fact I could eat what I wanted without worrying all the time about gaining weight, I got sick of all the crash diets I did, especially since I would gain weight again anyway. I also loved how flexible everything is. I can exercise or go to the gym but I don't have to, I do go but only like twice a week. ”

Jen's Fat Loss Diet

BREAKFAST

Jen's Motivation

“Truthfully I didn't really need much motivation after I got started because of how easy everything was. I only needed motivation at the beginning because I was finding it hard to get started since I'd failed so many times at this point, but once I saw my old photos it motivated me to work with the KaiserFit team which was the best thing I ever did.”

Did you find yourself falling off the plan at all?

“In all honesty, not really. Not long after starting Coach Shane gave me access to an app called the Kaiser Coach so I always had access to the help I needed 24/7 when I couldn't get in touch with you right away.”
